A premium in-roof (integrated) solar panel system, set flush into a new clay-tiled roof during a full re-roof in Kent.
This project shows one of our premium in-roof (integrated) solar panel systems, fitted flush within a red clay-tiled hipped roof. Instead of sitting on brackets above the tiles, the all-black panels are set into the roof itself so they finish level with the surrounding tiles — a discreet, architectural look that suits a smart home.
It was installed as part of a full re-roof, which is the ideal moment to integrate solar. Fitting it at the same time as the new tiles kept everything neat and weather-tight from day one.
The in-roof trays replace the tiles directly beneath the panels and form a sealed, watertight system, so there's no bulky rail-and-bracket hardware on show. The panels sit flush with the new red tiles, giving a clean, purpose-built finish rather than a retrofitted one.
Working across several roof faces, our team set out the array to make the most of the available space and orientation while keeping the lines crisp against the surrounding tiles.
Integrating solar panels while the new roof went on meant the panels became part of the roof covering, not an addition to it. That keeps the whole roof watertight from the outset and avoids disturbing the tiles again down the line.
For the homeowner it delivers all the usual rewards of solar panels — lower bills, protection from rising energy prices and income from the Smart Export Guarantee — with the added benefit of a premium, low-profile finish.

In-roof solar, answered
An in-roof system sets the panels into the roof itself, replacing the tiles beneath them with a sealed, watertight tray. The panels finish flush with the surrounding tiles for a discreet, built-in look rather than sitting on brackets above them.
In-roof integration costs a little more because it forms part of the roof covering, but many homeowners prefer the flush, low-profile finish, and it's ideal when you're re-roofing or building. We'll talk you through both options at survey.
Yes, and a re-roof is the perfect moment to do it. Integrating the panels while the new tiles go on keeps everything neat and weather-tight from day one, with no need to disturb the roof again later.
Most homes are completed in one to three days on site, depending on the size of the system and roof access. We give you a clear timeline at survey stage so you know exactly what to expect.
We do. Building-regulations notification, MCS certification and your Smart Export Guarantee registration are all handled for you, so there's nothing to chase.
Very little. Rain keeps the glass largely clean and there are no moving parts to wear out. We can arrange an occasional clean or system check if you'd like to keep output at its best.
Yes. We fit GivEnergy, Fox and Tesla battery storage and smart EV chargers, either at the same time or later, so you can store daytime solar power for the evening and charge your car on your own clean energy.
We do. We're based in Faversham and cover the whole county, from Canterbury, Ashford and Maidstone to Folkestone, the Medway towns and the West Kent commuter belt.
